So let's be real -- this blog is pretty boring.
I hardly ever write entries and when I do it usually feels forced, which means it's not fun for me and it's probably not fun for you. I've already deleted a bunch of old entries and I'm tempted to just delete this blog completely. Since I won't write about work and writing about my family gets complicated, it doesn't leave me with a lot of good material. Sure, I could take some time to think up good blog posts but I've got a couple of other writing projects in the works and honestly, I'd rather focus my attention on those.
I haven't made any decisions and I'm sure I'll start blogging again eventually, but for now it will probably be quiet around here. I don't want to Delete & Dash though, so I just want to say thanks to anyone who has ever read this blog or been featured in one of the crazy stories here. Thanks for laughing during the good times and helping me through the rough patches.

Gray Matters
There are three weeks each year that make my job extra stressful, and this is one of those weeks. I've been getting to work early, skipping my lunch, saying late and yet I'm still barely keeping up with everything. It has not been pleasant and frankly I could use a massage. And maybe a couple bottles of wine.
Tonight I decided to take a shower before bed, to turn the water up extra hot and stand there as long as I wanted because, shit man, I needed to unwind. So that's exactly what I did. I used my fancy salon shampoo, deep conditioned my hair, exfoliated with my early Christmas gift spa scrub, and it was all great! I was so relaxed! So refreshed! So happy! Until I got out, wrapped up in my big, fluffy towel, looked in the mirror and saw a super-thick gray hairsproing-ing out of the top of my head.
Well-played Universe... well-played.

More Excited Than I Should Be To Spend The Weekend In Kentucky
I spent the morning chatting with Cassie about everything and nothing.
Then I dropped something off at Dad's office for his holiday potluck and got chat with his nice co-workers, many of whom couldn't help mentioning how strong the resemblance is between us.
Now I'm packing a bag so I can drive to Louisville for dinner and a concert (Over The Rhine! Woohoo!) and then drive to Lexington to stay with some friends. And in the morning I've been promised pumpkin pancakes and a latte.
I don't want to jinx it or anything, but this weekend is shaping up to be pretty kickass.
